Insitu Celebrates One Million Flight Hours
BINGEN, Wash., March 16, 2017 – Unmanned aviation technology company Insitu invites local community members to check out a new resource within its website - https://insitu.com/community. The new Insitu Community pages celebrate the impact of the company and its employees throughout the Columbia Gorge region and beyond.
“Caring for our community is at the heart of Insitu’s culture, and we think our people do an excellent job,” said Tammy Kaufman, Community Relations Coordinator at Insitu. “We wanted to share some of those stories, while giving residents a better understanding of how we partner with local organizations to amplify our impact.”
Insitu volunteers are spread throughout the region, and donate time and resources to numerous causes including local civic organizations, sorting and recycling electronics at the annual Community Pride Spring Clean Up, hosting blood drives with the American Red Cross, teaching the annual STEM-based RoboFlight Academy for high school students, and giving gifts to those in need during the holidays.
Founded in 1994 by two local engineers, Insitu has grown to nearly 1,200 employees worldwide. Approximately 800 of these employees reside in the Columbia River Gorge region spanning from Portland/Vancouver to east of The Dalles in both Oregon and Washington. The number of employees is expected to grow by 7% annually over the next three years.
Suzanne McNamara, VP of Business Development and Strategy, said, “As a Gorge-grown company, Insitu is committed to ensuring the growth of opportunities for the people and organizations that have made our success possible.”
